Cheesy Cream(y) Center meet

A long awaited meet with your dearest friends done with major planning and adjusting schedule and finally gets successful, is what the current situation would appear to all. Once a time when friend promised to meet whenever time would permit and always be available seems like a rare possibility, with each one joining in a new stream and including a hectic lifestyle. Such was a meet I planned up with my friends wherein we could meet each other after a year

Planning for hours and messaging to decide on a place is what was the second step after deciding to meet on a particular date. Finally we zeroed down on a restaurant named Cream Center in Chennai. Its located on a busy road at College road. With refreshing interiors and bright feel, it includes cuisines ranging from Mexican to Italian and North Indian. It was a meet that marked lots of fun, food and chatting. To make it more special was the sizzling hot brownie which we all had thought to have instantly we settled on the table.

Having arrived half an hour late with my friend, the other friends kept waiting at the table for us to arrive. The waiters and manager gave out a suspicious look, as to whether these people would actually order food or just keep gazing around. They actually took a liberty to come up to the table and giving them a warning call to order faster and vacate the table for the unexpected customers they expected to come in large numbers (Well though that did not happen that day)

This meet marked a surprise for my b'day, as my friends got in a cake for me and click click went on the camera to capture these moments forever. We ordered various dishes and varieties that we enjoyed till our platter and stomach gave a signal to stop it for the day. This meet made us all remember our old college days, the present and future living. Just one thing that we all missed on this meet was our dear friend, who is married now and is in Mumbai.

A Superlicious B'day

A day every year which we wait for though we dont actually do so. Yes its our b'day. Some people wait for it all throughout the year and party hard, some just wait for that day to arrive as it would and make the best out of it with near and dear ones. I fall in the second category, who wait for the day to come as it would and enjoy it and make it most memorable. This b'day which falls today(27/3) was no less than before. It was a day very fulfilling and ecstatic.

The day started off by thanking God for making me see this yet another beautiful day in my life. As it had to start off calls kept coming in every now and then. With the expectations of whose call would come up next it seemed more of guessing and winning game. Next came in pulling legs of friends for all sane and insane reasons and taking a liberty to do so as it was my b'day and no one would mind what i do today. Plans were set up with my siblings and two of my cousins who readily joined the league of celebration.

The outing went on at Citi Centre, with crowd pouring in maximum being a weekend. First place to head towards was the food court and make an attack on the dishes to satisfy the taste buds and not worrying on the calories that it would end in adding up. An order for pizza, followed by a small surprise by my sisters of the world's smallest cake was given. The enjoyment of sharing such a small cake seemed more than sharing huge kgs of cake. A chocolate cake with choco chips really tempted each one of us. After that we went to shop for a few stuffs and headed back towards home.

The evening followed by spending time at home and relishing the day's activities and a small surprise gift and a light dinner of sandwich. The could not have ended better than finishing it up by writing this blog. I really thank all who made this day astounding and relishing.

A Bang-Lore edition

Times passed by, the journey through the city of gardens has come to a halt and I am back where i was. Unlimited fun, outing, good food, best feel of nature and achieving lot of moments that are captured for a lifetime. A stay for six months brought in so many changes in day-to -day life that things seem so different being the way I used to.

The fast paced life along with the feeling of being calm, surrounded the mind being at such a place. The college life, new experience of exploring new places to hang out n unending eateries. It seemed like a package for fun and frolic. The changing weathers and swinging moods, led to reaching to places that did not even turn up on planning. From small road side eateries to some of the posh restaurants, all seemed to have been added to the list of visiting week after week.

A challenge to complete the studies successfully and adding a degree behind a degree was the priority. But along with this came so many other things that made life more exciting and elucidating. A journey that would be cherished for a lifetime and wish to be there back soon.

Happiness at its core, its a place where one craves for more.

Save our nation's pride

India proudly presents its national culture, integrity, bird, flower and animal. But it seems like in the near future the latter will fail to appear in the nation's pride list. Yes its the national animal of India- Tiger. With an initiative taken up by a leading company in creating an awareness on the number of tigers that are left in our country, it comes as a shock to most of us. There are only 1411 tigers left or may be lesser now. From the thousands of them having been counted upon year on year it now seems reducing rapidly. Some people just argue on the fact that such awareness is created to gain publicity, but let us focus on the key issue than blaming each other

The reason for such an happening is not due to the natural causes but due to their dying before the age by unscrupulous means and with an aim of fun and enjoyment. Hunting and killing of animals was once considered a necessity in the early ages of man, when he had nothing to eat. But now it has come out as a passion and to flaunt for the bravery and courage a person may possess by killing animals. This passion would soon be a sign of danger by the total extinction of tigers like dinosaurs.

This blog is written to serve to add a touch to the awareness created and spreading of this message to those who do not realize what harm they are causing to the country and what treasure it may lose in the future.

Save nature, save the country.

C-B-A of Driving a car

Wondering why the title seems abstract and not mentioned as A-B-C, well that is how the main mechanisms in the car are placed( Clutch-Brake-Accelerator). I took the wheels on the road to a day perfectly started in this new year on 1st January. Learning to drive independently for the first time took a lot of time initially, but once decided now had get into action

Started off with a bang loaded with lots of enthusiasm to learn driving a car so that I may join the crowd of youth(largely) and people of all ages leading the race on road to reach to their destinations in the fastest time possible. With such excitement I got myself enrolled at the driving school, went on for a class on learning the various signs on the road and safety measures to be undertaken while driving.

The first started off with a small duration of half an hour to get a grip on the actual working of the various parts in the car and to be able to manage to drive for more than 4 Kms ( obviously with the trainer on the other side, to make all obstacles disappear for me ;). The only grudge was to get up early and start up at 7 itself. As time went on ten days of training went on by learning it properly and to get the confidence to drive independently.

Almost after a month got to give the test drive today and getting a confirmation on receiving the Driving license after two weeks brought in a feel of another achievement after successfully completing my M.B.A- http://anjubafna.blogspot.com/2010/02/move-beyond-adequacy-mba.html . Now time to move ahead and practice driving with efficiency and to enjoy the freedom of using this opportunity in the most happening and useful manner.

A Move Beyond Adequacy (M.B.A)

A day in one's life starting from the thoughts of being at college, friends, the endless assignments, cribbing for any acts done by the teachers' which aims at taking away the leisure to unending talks, laughing aloud for no reason at all have here come to an end to begin a new phase of for 'practical' application of all that we have learnt through out our educational journey

Having completed my post graduation I call M.B.A not in its original abbreviated form, but one which is beyond the adequate requirement of a degree. The feel of having acquired more enhanced knowledge which could be applied to building the strategy of one's own development in life seems to require an applause. The way we manage to complete the most difficult assignments in the shortest duration possible to studying huge piles in just a matter of one night could happen only with the students who have been trained to handle all pressures in a strategic manner ;)

Having made a bunch of new friends for the 4th time it rather seemed that the bonding would not be as great as the previous ones. It proved to be wrong as I had new friends, t was same with others. We got to each other all well and in a period of certain time, college seemed more fun due to friends than studies. Wish all the friends do keep in touch as oaths taken when we leave the college. The journey through this study has thought how to adapt to various situations, how to handle stress and also how to smile in the most difficult times with the support of friends. In a nutshell it has given us the motive to change the dynamics within us to turn around the problems to solutions which are just more than adequate.

A Fantabulous New Year Beginning..

The long awaited 20-10(as ppl call it) has arrived and brought in a lot of new stuffs that i experienced for the very first time in my life. I know its a little late to write but the new year bash was celebrated and carried over to the whole of the weekend. The first feeling of excitement and happiness came in when the new year brought in a continuous stretch of holidays for three days. On 31st night the pre new year welcome was started by setting fire on the dance floor by people of all ages at the Karnataka State Cricket Association Club. Dancing for 3 hours nonstop was a hell lot of experience to actually be lost into the celebrations. There was like no stopping to the fun and frolic.

The New year began with happiness of being satisfied to achieve and enjoy lot of new stuffs. With the exploration of new restaurants came in tatsing the flavors at Chowka in Indiranagar. A restaurant which serves Rajasthani meal with the real feel as the ambience and the clothes of the waiters are similar to ones wore in Rajasthan. A sumptous meal and taste that fills one to their hearts content. The thali contains dal baati, roti, sabzi, dahi chaat etc. All spices and flavors come authentically as per Rajasthani taste.

Saturday brought in more element of surprise to the place visited. Barbeque Nation in Indiranagar. Its an exquisite and exotic place for a variety of starters that are grilled on the table and one can enjoy them served hot. The restaurant is in-house and also rooftop. Sitting on the rooftop added to the excitement. The starters keep getting served unless the flag beside on the table is put down. The starters are followed by an unlimited buffet. With great starters to healthy starters, north indian main course and side dishes to tempting and delicious desserts including fruits, ice cream, sweet, pastry and mousse, its a complete enriching experience and worth every penny you spend to enjoy the food with the service and ambience matching the high standards.

Sunday came closer with shopping around at Oasis Mall in Koramangala followed by lunch at Mast Kalandar( about which I had written earlier- http://anjubafna.blogspot.com/2009/11/foodie-weekend.html) A long wait and serching around made us land at this restaurant as places where buzzing with people at all places. A Halka phulka meal as a perfect north indian really would crave one to visit this place again. The weekend ended on a perfect note by watching '3 Idiots'. Its a movie which would entertain nonstop with every scene coming in with a thought to ponder over and inspiring to change the way the education system operates and to encourage one to study and become what he/she aspires.

The great new year celebration with the never-done-before activities really makes it most memorable and a cherishing one. Wishing for such a happening life all throughout the year.
